# CRM Filter

> See which contacts are already in your CRM and filter by CRM status directly in BenefitFlow.

CRM Filter adds CRM awareness to your prospecting. Once an admin connects Salesforce, HubSpot, or Microsoft Dynamics, a **CRM Status filter** appears on your contact searches, and a badge marks any contact already in your CRM. Focus on net-new people, or check who's already being worked, without leaving BenefitFlow.

<Note>
  CRM Filter works on **contact** searches only: **Broker Contacts** and **Employer Contacts**, plus the **Contacts** tab on broker and employer profiles. It is not yet available when searching employers or brokers (company records).
</Note>

## What You'll See

**CRM Status filter** — A dropdown at the top of your contact results lets you switch between **All**, **In CRM**, and **Not in CRM**. It's a filter in its own right: combine it with your other filters (role, location, license, and so on) to target exactly the people you want.

**CRM badge on contacts** — A small cloud badge marks any contact that already exists in your connected CRM, so you can spot who's been added at a glance. On Salesforce, the badge links straight to the record ("View in Salesforce").

## How It Works

| ---------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Matching Logic | Contacts are matched by email address. |
| Sync Frequency | Contacts synced through Lists update almost immediately. All other CRM data refreshes automatically within a few hours. |
| Supported CRMs | Salesforce, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics 365 |

## Use Cases

| Avoid duplicate outreach | Filter to **In CRM** to check which contacts are already being worked before reaching out |
| Fill gaps at key accounts | Open an employer or broker profile, go to the Contacts tab, then filter to **Not in CRM** to find additional decision-makers to add |

<Tip>
  **Don't see CRM badges or the filter?** You'll need an active CRM integration first. See [Connecting Your CRM (Admin Setup)](/knowledge-base/crm-integrations-getting-started) to connect your CRM.

## FAQ

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Can I filter employers or brokers by CRM status?">
    Not yet. CRM Status filtering is available on **contact** searches only (Broker Contacts and Employer Contacts, plus the Contacts tab on profiles). It is not available when searching employers or brokers as companies.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Do I need to be an admin to use CRM Filter?">
    No. Any user can see CRM badges and use the filter once an admin has connected a CRM integration and enabled CRM Filter in Settings.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="How often does CRM data refresh?">
    It depends on how the contact was synced:

    * **Contacts synced through Lists** — CRM badges appear almost immediately after syncing.
    * **All other contacts** — BenefitFlow periodically checks your CRM for changes. Badges typically appear within a few hours.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Why don't I see badges on some contacts?">
    Badges only appear when BenefitFlow can match a contact to a record in your CRM by email address. If the contact's email in BenefitFlow doesn't match any email in your CRM, no badge will show.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Does this work with all supported CRMs?">
    Yes. CRM Filter works with Salesforce, HubSpot, and Microsoft Dynamics 365. The experience is the same regardless of which CRM you use.
